Rumor: China Mobile Reveals TD-SCDMA Terminal Bidding Results

An industry insider said that results for China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) second round of TD-SCDMA terminal bidding - for contracts to supply 200,000 terminals - are in.
According to an informed source, ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) has won orders for 61,000 handsets, accounting for over 30% of the total tender (by units), the biggest share; the models that won contracts were the U981 (4,000 units), U85 (40,000 units), and U860 (17,000 units).
Samsung, Guangzhou New Postcom, and Amoi (600057.SH) ranked second, third and fourth by units, respectively, while Datang Mobile led in TD-SCDMA data cards.
