Kingsoft MMO Breaks 200K PCU

Kingsoft (3888.HK) announced today that by 8:46 PM of June 9, peak concurrent users (PCU) for The First Myth II had reached 203,480. Between May 30, when the game started open beta testing, and June 9th, 125 server groups had been opened.

Kingsoft attributes the success of the game to the new "credit card" payment model, which it adopted for the game. Under this model, Kingsoft gives free game "credit cards" to all players of The First Myth II, which the players can use to trial any in-game item for free. After the player has had a chance to experience the related feature, if they feel satisfied and happy, and wish to continue using the item, they must then pay for the item.
