Tencent Invests RMB 550 Mln in Chengdu R&D Center

Chinese Internet and wireless value-added services provider Tencent (0700.HK) has signed an agreement with Chengdu authorities regarding the investment of RMB 550 mln in an R&D Center and an information processing and customer service center in the city's High and New Technology Zone. Within three years this will become the center of Tencent's business in the south-west of China, and employ a staff of 1,500.
