Baidu Appoints Former Apple China GM as COO

Chinese online search engine Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) today announced the appointment of Ye Peng as chief operating officer, effective April 25, 2008.

Ye previously worked at Apple China, where he served as country general manager, overseeing all business operations for the company. Prior to that, Ye worked for SatCom AG as managing director and for Motorola Mobile Business North Asia as vice president of Asia Pacific and general manager of New Wireless Carrier Operations. Ye also held several senior management and product development positions at Nortel China and Nortel Europe over seven years of service.
