Government to Protect Domestic Gaming IPR

During the 2007 China Game Industry Annual Conference (CGIAC), Kou Xiaowei, deputy director-general of the Audio, Visual, Electronic and Internet Publishing Department under the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP), disclosed that GAPP will join with related departments to introduce new measures to protect domestic online game enterprises' intellectual property rights. If an intellectual property disputes arise in which a Chinese enterprise pursues arbitration with a foreign enterprise, approval of the foreign enterprise's product will immediately be suspended.
