CNNIC Promotes WAP Domain Registration Service

The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) is promoting a mobile domain registration service in Chongqing. A number of well-known local firms have registered domains using their company names or relevant keywords. For example, sending the Chinese characters for 'Chongqing mobiles' to 916076 will take users to the WAP site for a local mobile handset retailer. The site includes an introduction to the company and also allows users to submit orders.
