CCSA Maps Specifications for TD-SCDMA MBMS Standard

On November 2, the China Communications Standards Association (CSSA) announced on its website that in accordance with the Ministry of Information Industry (MII)'s planning requirements for standards, it has started work on the specifications on the technical requirements for 2GHz TD-SCDMA Multi-media Broadcast Multicast System (MBMS). This communications industry standard will address network systems architecture, business functions, processes and billing management for TD-SCDMA MBMS.

The industry chain of TD-SCDMA MBMS is essentially complete and representatives from system manufacturers (Datang Mobile, ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ), TD Tech and Potevio), chipset manufacturers (T3G and COMMIT) and handset vendors (ZTE and Lenovo) are participating in TD-SCDMA MBMS research. Recently, at the Beijing Telecoms Exhibition, both ZTE and Lenovo demonstrated mature TD-SCDMA MBMS products.
