China's Jan-Aug 2015 Online Retail GMV Up 37% YoY

China's gross merchandise volume (GMV) of online retail products and services reached RMB 2.240 trln for the eight months ended August 30, up 36.5% YoY, according to newly released figures from China's National Bureau of Statistics.
Of this figure, online consumer goods comprised RMB 1.865 trln, up 35.6% YoY, and accounting for 9.8% of overall consumer goods retail sales.
Online consumer services, which also includes intangible products such as digital downloads, apps, online newspapers, and other services, accounted for RMB 374.8 bln, up 41.1% YoY.
