JD.com's Paipai Waives Merchant Fees

DoNews, 6/03/14

In an effort to attract more online merchants to the site, Beijing-based B2C e-commerce platform JD.com's (Nasdaq: JD) C2C site Paipai.com has waived annual service fees and commissions for all qualified merchants that join the platform before August 1.

Paipai has launched a "one-click moving service" to make it easier for merchants to import their product listings from other e-commerce platforms onto Paipai, and the site currently supports payment from a host of third-party payment services, including Tencent's (0700.HK) Tenpay and JD.com's own Chinabank Payments, as well as cash on delivery (COD).

JD.com is also planning initiatives to direct a larger volume of traffic to Paipai in 2014. JD.com has guaranteed that the site will match all merchant advertising spend on Paipai for merchants that join before August 1.
