Xiaomi to Convert After-Sales Locations to Retail Stores
Yicai.com, 11/18/13
Li Wanqiang, VP of Beijing-based Android device maker Xiaomi, has disclosed that Xiaomi will convert all 18 of its current "Xiaomi Home" ("Xiaomi Zhijia") after-sales service centers into flagship retail stores by the end of the year.
Xiaomi began building its after-sales service centers in the second half of 2011. Upon conversion into flagship retail stores, Xiaomi locations will feature product experience areas and online order pick-up services, as well as Xiaomi's one-hour quick-repair service, code named "Orange Tornado" ("Chengse Xuanfeng"). Xiaomi's flagship stores will not sell Xiaomi mobile handsets and TVs, instead retailing only the company's accessories, including set-top boxes (STBs), protective handset cases, and headphones.
