Jingdong Halts Cooperation with Alipay, Sina Microblog
Caijing, 8/30/13
Beijing-based B2C e-commerce platform Jingdong has announced the termination of its partnership with Chinese internet company Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) Weibo microblogging platform and third-party payment processor Alipay.
If Jingdong users attempt to login to the site using their Alipay accounts, a prompt appears stating that the partnership between Jingdong and Alipay has expired, and that hereafter, users will not be able to log into Jingdong through their Alipay accounts.
Similarly, when Sina Weibo users attempt to log into Jingdong, they are given a prompt stating that the relationship between Jingdong and Sina Weibo has expired, and that users are no longer able to log into Jingdong using their Sina Weibo accounts. Customers that currently use their Sina Weibo accounts to sign into Jingdong must create a new Jingdong account to use the service.
