Sina Tech, 1/17/13
Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning's (002024.SZ) B2C site Suning.com released its 2012 business figures today, reporting sales revenues of RMB 15.216 bln for physical products and total revenues of RMB 18.336 bln - short of the RMB 20 bln sales target the company had set in early 2012. Sales of virtual products, including business travel products, account balance recharge services, lottery tickets, and group buy deals, accounted for approximately RMB 1.5 bln of the company's RMB 18.336 bln in total revenues, while sales from Suning.com's open platform and services including cosmetics sales and mother- and baby-care products B2C Redbaby totaled RMB 1.62 bln.
Commenting on the figures, Suning.com VP Li Bin said that the site achieved YoY sales growth of 210.8% in 2012, essentially meeting the company's targets. Li added that Suning.com met the other three operational targets - registered user base, average daily traffic, and average daily order counts - that it set in early 2012.
