Sina Microblog Launches Professional SNS Service

Chinese internet company Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) Weibo microblogging platform launched a professional networking service, "Wei Renmai" (Micro-Network) (http://renmai.weibo.com) today, providing a platform for Weibo users to expand their professional networks and discover new opportunities.

Wei Renmai's features allow users to sort and evaluate their personal connections, develop personal resumes, and seek and post new employment opportunities. Connections between users on the platform are described as "renmai" (literally, "professional connection") and differ from ordinary one-way links in allowing both parties to view one another's resume and contact information and write recommendations for each other. Users not connected to other users via "renmai" links will be able to view other users' "renmai" network graphs and request introductions from mutual friends.
