China Unicom, Apple Discuss Extending Contract

China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) president Lu Yimin revealed recently that the operator is Apple's largest partner by units shipped on the Chinese mainland. Unicom and Apple have both been extremely satisfied with the terms of their arrangement over the past three years, Lu said, adding that Unicom was discussing extending its partnership with the company and was confident that Apple would agree. China Unicom and Apple signed their three-year partnership agreement in June 2009.
