Sina Microblog, Qihoo 360 Form Strategic Partnership

Chinese online security software developer Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) recently signed an agreement with internet company Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) Weibo microblogging platform to build a new platform to integrate accounts between the two services, allowing Sina Weibo users access to all Qihoo 360 products and Qihoo 360 users to sign in to Sina Weibo using just one account.

The partnership also entails cooperation between the two companies on a number of products to be integrated with Sina Weibo, including 360 Desktop and 360 Safe Browser. Sina Weibo has confirmed the news of the formal partnership, adding that Qihoo 360 will also provide Sina Weibo with a third-party URL filter used to monitor the platform for malicious links.

Future cooperation between Sina Weibo and Qihoo 360 will involve wireless products and applications.
