Joyo Amazon Rebrands as Amazon China

Amazon today renamed its China subsidiary Joyo Amazon to Amazon China, at the same time introducing the new Z.cn domain name, which automatically redirects to Amazon.cn.

Amazon also opened its tenth operations center in China today in Kunshan, Jiangsu province, which, at 120,000 square meters, is also the company's largest in the country. With the addition of Amazon's operations center in Suzhou, the company now has more than 160,000 square meters of warehouse space in the Yangtze River Delta.

Marc Onetto, Amazon's senior vice president of worldwide operations, said that with the launch of the Kunshan operations center, the company now has a total of more than 400,000 square meters of warehouse space throughout China.

For consumers in Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Shaoxing, Jiaxing and Hangzhou, Amazon has also extended the order cut-off time for its free same-day delivery service to 11 AM.
