Shanxi Province Begins Cable TV Network Consolidation

At the Shanxi Provincial Broadcasting Network Consolidation Conference recently held in Taiyuan, the working group responsible for establishing a consolidated provincial cable TV operator, the Shanxi Broadcasting Information Network Group, signed separate consolidation framework agreements with the municipal broadcasting authorities of 11 cities. Those cities included Taiyuan, Datong, Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Luliang, Jinzhong, Yangquan, Changzhi, Jincheng, Linfen and Yuncheng. As a result, Shanxi's cable TV network consolidation efforts have entered the implementation phase. The province currently has over 100 regional cable TV networks.
Hu Suping, head of the provincial Publicity Department, emphasized that the provincial government has approved the establishment of the Shanxi Broadcasting Information Network Group to consolidate and integrate operations and management of the provinces' networks. The working group must register the new company by the end of March.
