Tencent Establishes SNS

Chinese Internet and wireless value-added services provider Tencent (0700.HK) has announced the release of a new campus SNS product, "QQ Xiaoyou" (literally "QQ Classmate").
A Tencent spokesperson for QQ Xiaoyou stated that the new site is Tencent's attempt to make inroads in the segmented user group SNS market.
The source also revealed that Tencent plans to release vertical site domains for SNS groups including those aimed at white-collar users and for residents of particular cities.
