Tianya Launches Lottery Service

Chinese online community site Tianya has put a new lottery service online with a recent low-key launch. The national government had previously ordered all online lottery services to halt operations. Tianya's current lottery service is tied to Tianya user accounts, allowing registered users of the community site to conveniently activate the service. Reportedly the new service is a partnership between Tianya and the lottery site 500wan, though Tianya has yet to provide any clear indication of this. An employee of 500wan said that the online ticket purchase system was merely an interface to the phone purchase system, and that all purchases are still handled over the phone.
