Dell Begins China Layoffs

An industry source has revealed that in the first week of this month a number of Dell's Chinese employees received layoff notices. The layoffs covered approximately 30 people, including 30% of Dell's direct sales department. The company's domestic sales support department had also been disbanded. A Dell executive stated that the company would still maintain its small and medium enterprise (SME) group, which was one of the company's focuses.
