Jingmen Telecom, Public Security Cooperate on Hotel Security

People's Posts and Telecommunications News, 11/04/08

Jingmen Telecom in Hubei province has signed a contract with the municipal public security bureau to provide a virtual private dial-up network (VPDN) information reporting system for hotels. Under the agreement, Jingmen Telecom will install and provide support for the public security information management system in all hotels across the city. The system will record guest information on check-in, and automatically check guest identities against a list of criminal fugitives and other suspects that will be maintained on a server run by the public security system.

More than 450 hotels have already installed this system, which is expected to be operating in all 600 hotels city-wide by the end of the year.
