UCWeb to Release Browsers for Smart TV, PC

Mobile browser developer UCWeb announced today that the company plans to enter the smart TV and PC browser markets as part of its multi-screen strategy. He Xiaopeng, UCWeb co-founder and President, has stated that the company will soon offer all new cross-tablet, PC, and TV compatible browsers.

As of 2013, the company's UC Browser had more than 400 mln monthly active users worldwide, controlling more than 50% of China's mobile browser market, according to UCWeb. UCWeb's mobile browser share in India has exceeded 30%.

UCWeb is looking to become the leader in the TV browser industry within one year, and hopes to also make strides into the PC browser market as well.

UCWeb's multi-screen strategy is based on a cloud framework.
