Travel Journal App Lands USD 7-Digit First-Round Funding

Shanghai Quewo Information Technology, developer of mobile travel journal app "117go," recently shed light on the company's funding history. In February 2012, 117go received an investment from a well-known domestic angel investor of several million RMB. In July 2012, the company completed USD 7-digit first-round funding from venture capital firm Redpoint Ventures. The company did not promptly announce funding information for strategic reasons.
CMO Pu Minghui stated that the 117go app went online in October 2011 and has already reached 3 mln users. The 117go app team is currently comprised of 20 members.
117go is a travel journal and experience sharing app. Users can create travel journals featuring pictures and notes from various trips they have taken. The app records the time and location information of each entry, and allows for content to be shared with social networking sites. Users can also use the mobile app to view the travel itineraries of their friends or search or sort users by the itineraries and destination.
