Pet-owner SNS Goumin Acquires Rival Poopur.com

Chinese pet SNS Goumin.com has reportedly acquired rival Poopur.com. Poopur staff have already transitioned to Goumin's offices, and Poopur founder Lv Bosen has taken the post of VP responsible for mobile internet services.

Poopur.com, a social networking site for pet owners and animal lovers, was launched in April 2012, has received over RMB 1 mln in angel funding, and has fewer than 10 employees. Industry sources speculate the company was acquired for approximately RMB 2 mln.

Lv said the acquisition plan was agreed upon in September and took effect last week, but said that estimates of the sale price were inaccurate and difficult to make since the acquisition was made using cash and a share swap.

Lv added Poopur.com will suspend online and mobile operations for a short time, and is currently developing a new version of its mobile app, which has not been updated for some time.
