Xiaomi Wins USD 216 Mln in Third-Round Funding

Lei Jun, chairman and CEO of Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi, today announced the company obtained USD 216 mln in third-round funding during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday (June 22-24) at a valuation of USD 4 bln. Lei said the funds were from an international investment firm, but a confidentiality agreement prevents him from naming the company. Xiaomi previously received USD 41 mln in first-round funding in late 2010, and USD 90 mln in second-round funding in December 2011.
