China Economic Times, 7/09/09
Yin Xingfan, GM at the Guangzhou subsidiary of classified listings site 58.com, says that over the past three months, the site has grown by the same amount it grew in the last three years. Page views have surged to 800 mln per month, and registered users have increased to a total of 10 mln, with 50,000 new users currently added per day.
Yin says 58.com is now exploring a profit model based on precision-targeted advertising, and will draw upon its business categories to create a "Yellow Pages" channel listing only local businesses. 58.com currently has sub-sites for 250 cities, organized by administrative region.
