Update: China Mobile Restricts Number of Mobile Games

A source at a mobile game developer says China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) issued a notice that new restrictions on mobile games due to go into effect on August 1, will be delayed until September 1.
After the restrictions take effect, the number of games wireless value-added service providers (SPs) can offer on China Mobile';s Baibaoxiang ("Treasure Box") mobile gaming platform will be limited to 40 games for A-level providers, 30 for B-level providers, 20 for C-level providers, 6 for ordinary providers, and 2 for providers with insufficient credit ratings. Previously, the limits had been 130 games for A-level providers, 100 for B-level providers, 80 for C-level providers, 60 for ordinary providers and 30 for providers with poor rankings.
The source said that beginning next year, China Mobile could transfer all of its Baibaoxiang game content to a unified game channel.
